Some people prefer using solid-textured ceramic cups for strong, robust roasts (like when working). However, most people prefer porcelain cups to showcase the subtlety and aroma of coffee. Bone china, made from high-quality porcelain clay mixed with premium animal bone ash, is lightweight, has a soft color, and boasts excellent heat retention, best preserving the warmth of coffee in the cup. These bone china cups, containing 25% animal bone ash, are indeed both beautiful and practical, but they are also quite expensive, rarely used in ordinary households. They are more common in upscale coffee shops or among the upper class.

Drinking coffee is a life enjoyment, unlike drinking Sprite or Coke. If you gulp it down, all the charm is lost. Like tea, coffee is meant to be savored (although instant coffee isn't much to appreciate, I bet you don't want to gulp it down, but espresso is an exception).
